Carol-Ann is the founder and executive director of Destination Rehab. She holds a doctoral degree in physical therapy and spent several years learning, training, and treating a magnitude of clients following neurological injury in an active, large volume hospital in Florida. When Carol-Ann and her family returned to Oregon to be closer to family, she started Destination Rehab to bridge the gap between outpatient clinic care and real life community living, with a special focus on outdoor activities and adventures. Q: How would your family describe you?
A: My husband would say I need to spend more time relaxing on the couch! My family teases me for all my crazy ideas, but we have a lot of fun when we are together.
Q: What is an unknown or lesser known fact about yourself?
A: When my husband and I were first married, we purchased a live piranha off craigslist! We ended up having that fish for several years, and it was quite unique.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I love being outdoors doing activities with my family and dog including backpacking, running, playing Ultimate frisbee, and traveling. I also play acoustic guitar.
Q: What was your favorite Destination Rehab event from 2017?
A: It’s a tie between SOAR! and Adventure Rehab Camp!
Q: What Destination Rehab event are you most looking forward to this year?
A: Everything! I’m really excited about the 2018 Adventure Group that will be meeting regularly and planning a variety of new activities for Destination Rehab.
Q: What is a personal goal you have for this upcoming year?
A: I want to continue growing this program while maintaining balance and focusing on what truly matters.
Q: Is there anything else you would like to share with the larger community?
A: I am so excited for this series, because I want everyone to know the amazing people who have come together to support Destination Rehab and who have their own unique stories and talents to share!
