A chair yoga class, co-led by a yoga instructor and physical therapist. This class promotes flexibility, posture, muscle coordination, relaxation and blood flow. The structure is slow paced, with options to increase or decrease difficulty as needed. All are welcome, including individuals with medical conditions, disabilities, chronic pain and joint pain. Leah (Yoga teacher) will lead the group through a chair yoga class, and Carol-Ann (Physical Therapist) will assist with individual positioning, postural alignment, and flexibility. (bios below)

Leah is a certified yoga teacher, RYT-200, RPYT, and has been practicing yoga for over 12 years. In the beginning, Leah used yoga to work through running injuries, but quickly dove deeply into the practice to enhance all facets of her life. She is a firm believer in the healing powers of yoga for physical, mental, and emotional ailments. Leah's classes focus on healing and strengthening the body so you can live your life more fully.
Carol-Ann Nelson, PT, DPT
Carol-Ann received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University. While there, she demonstrated leadership and service as Class President of her DPT class, planning and participating in many community outreach events. After graduating, Carol-Ann worked at Brooks Rehabilitation in Florida. She treated patients with a variety of complex neurologic conditions including spinal cord injury, stroke, Parkinson's, Guillian Barre, CP, spina bifida and MS. Carol-Ann is passionate about combining her love of the outdoors with bringing people to a new level of ability in their daily function. She is a licensed physical therapist in Oregon, and a member of the Oregon Physical Therapy Association, American Physical Therapy Association and the Neurologic Section.
