Carol-Ann and her family moved to Bend from Jacksonville, FL in the summer of 2015. She grew up in Eugene, and attended Willamette University before moving to the east coast to attend Duke University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. While there, she demonstrated leadership and service as Class President of her DPT class, planning and participating in many community outreach events. After graduating, Carol-Ann moved to Florida where she worked as a Physical Therapist in the Neuro Recovery Center at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. She treated patients with a variety of complex neurologic conditions including spinal cord injury, stroke, Parkinson's, Guillian Barre, CP, spina bifida and MS. She was also trained in the setup and utilization of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) equipment including the RT300 and RT600, and Bioness H200 and L300, and advanced mobility equipment such as the ZeroG, ICare Elliptical, and Therastride BWST. Carol-Ann is passionate about combining her love of the outdoors with bringing people to a new level of ability in their daily function. Carol-Ann is a licensed physical therapist in Oregon, and a member of the Oregon Physical Therapy Association, American Physical Therapy Association and the Neurologic Section.
Mary and her husband Merle have lived in Bend since 2011. They love the mountain views and downtown coffee shops. Mary works for the Red Cross as the Volunteer Program Coordinator for the central region. She is passionate about people realizing their dreams and her expertise in non-profit management is a huge asset to our program.
Andrea is serving on our Board of Directors. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Duke University and works as a PT in outpatient orthopedics in Fort Worth, TX. Andrea offers her expertise in injury prevention, manual therapy techniques, workplace injury management, and she is a certified clinical instructor. She is currently working toward her COMT through Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars. She has participated in numerous volunteer and outreach projects during her career, including medical mission trips abroad. Andrea is passionate about encouraging and guiding people toward reaching their functional goals - helping people get back to doing the activities they love. We are excited to have her on board!
Kenny received his engineering degree from Oregon State University. He has worked on a number of large scale projects for Andersen, including Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, a high-tech data center, Our Lady of the Lake school/parish, a 29-story high-rise in downtown Portland, Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center, and his current project is at Facebook in Prineville. Kenny is very active and enjoys the outdoors, and he loves being part of an organization that helps people experience the beauty of Central Oregon.
Ethan relocated to Bend in the summer of 2015 with his wife (Carol-Ann), boy/girl twins and dog Reya. He works as a software engineer and has worked in a variety of different companies. His technical and business expertise is invaluable to our organization, as is his passion for the outdoors and staying active.
Sukhee brings six years of neurologic experience as a physical therapist. She is passionate about serving and gifted in leadership, as demonstrated by her positions with the Oregon PT Association and the Global PT Day of Service Team. Sukhee leads monthly hikes in the Portland area for people with Parkinson’s Disease, maintains a Vestibular competency certification through the APTA, and has represented the OPTA as a Delegate for 3 years. Sukhee is a great addition to our advisory council and we are excited about the experience and enthusiasm that she brings to the organization.
Laura is the Associate Director of Service Operations for Optum, a Division of UnitedHealthcare. She has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years, and has consistently demonstrated integrity, compassion and relationship-building with people at all levels of service. She is passionate about improving quality of life for individuals with chronic conditions through communication and connecting them to resources and their community. Laura's wealth of expertise and deep perspective into current healthcare issues makes her a valuable member of our team.
