Laura Thayer is a member of Destination Rehab’s Board of Directors. She has spent most of her career working in healthcare in various capacities. When her niece, Carol-Ann, started discussing and envisioning Destination Rehab, Laura knew she wanted to be involved by supporting, because this program is a much needed addition to our traditional clinical model of “in the office” healthcare. Q: How would your family describe you?
A: Dedicated, fun, outgoing, and a little bit crazy, according to my daughter.
Q: What is an unknown or lesser known fact about yourself?
A: I own my own motorcycle.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I love cooking, hiking, spending time with my family, and traveling.
Q: What was your favorite DR event from 2017 and why?
A: The SOAR! event as I had the privilege of watching scared, apprehensive people walk through the door of the event transform into laughing, happy people who couldn’t get enough of all the amazing things SOAR! had to offer.
Q: What DR event are you most looking forward to this year?
A: SOAR!, because the 2017 event was truly amazing and to see how we can enhance, grow, and transform this year after year is going to be an awesome experience.
Q: What is a personal goal you have for this upcoming year?
A: To participate in meaningful adventures that not only open up my own world but the world of others, as well.
Q: Is there anything else you would like to share with the larger community?
A: I am so grateful to have the opportunity to participate in all of the wonderful things Destination Rehab has to offer. This organization is truly something that is transforming lives, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a part of it all!
