Join us for an incredible day at Lava Lands! You may join us for some or all of the morning's activities.
9:00am - Patio talk (Please arrive early!)
9:20am - Two optional hikes: 1) the Trail of the Molten Land. This asphalt trail is over the lava flow and is exposed, with no shade and some elevation change. There are beautiful views of the lava field and the surrounding area. You can go up to 2 miles round trip and the path is wide, but very challenging for a walker or wheelchair. 2) the Whispering Pines path is fully accessible for wheelchairs and goes along the side of the lava bed
10:00am - Group shuttle to the top of Lava Butte, with a guided talk. Wheelchair accessible. Those with extra energy can do a short but challenging walk to the very top for more views.
There will be several hiking poles available to try. Please wear breathable layers and bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Meet in front of the visitor center entrance (look for Destination Rehab signs). Family and friends welcome to join! (only service dogs)
$15 per participant, $10 each for family/friends - this includes the cost for the shuttle to the top and the group activities. You will need a parking pass ($5 per car unless you have a National Park/Monument Senior Pass [formerly called the Golden Eagle Pass], or a Northwest Forest Pass.
