What our patients say-

"Destination Rehab has given me a new lease on life, new self confidence with moving, and the programs are tailored to me. I feel highly motivated when I am outside with one of the physical therapists as they set realistic goals and make me feel safe." -Allison

“For the past five years this has been an uphill but successful battle, thanks to Destination Rehab. The more I meet with the team and the more my diagnosis progresses I feel they balance each other out. Without Destination Rehab I would be a lot worse off. I like all of the activities, they are all new to me and I enjoy trying new things.” -Steve

"When I was evaluated and every appointment since then I feel like they really look at me, and what is going on with me, to create a program specifically for me. I appreciate and love that we set goals together that feel attainable. I also have found new parks to go to and new areas to spend time at or walk around." -Linda

What does Neurologic Physical Therapy focus on?

Neuroplasticity

Your brain has a natural ability to improve, change and grow new connections. We offer training that incorporates the latest motor control, motor learning and neuroplasticity practice recommendations so that you can achieve the greatest recovery possible. This is especially important for people with stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s.

Falls Prevention and Balance

Feeling unsteady can lead to fear and limitations on your activities and lifestyle. We offer balance training in fun and unique environments - no more looking at a boring clinic wall - instead you can watch birds on the river and enjoy the beauty of nature at our local park, or balance on a Stand Up Paddle Board on the Deschutes River.

Flexibility and Strength

Functional training is building strength and flexibility that directly relates to daily activities. We incorporate this training using natural challenges like leg strengthening while trail walking, arm flexibility in a kayak, and endurance training on a recumbent bike.

Wheelchair Mobility and Navigation

Learning to be confident in your wheelchair is critical to gaining independence and freedom. We teach skills like picking up objects from the ground, wheeling in all directions, opening doors, tight turns, going up and down curbs, navigating ramps, getting in and out of a car, and getting up off the ground.
